Australian Made Certification: What it means to be Green and Gold

Pure Australian, Quality Water. That was the promise we made when we launched Cloudtap in late 2025, and it’s a path we’re proud to have walked ever since. We’ve made a lot of noise about how our products are backed by 70+ years of local manufacturing, but there’s no point touting an Aussie legacy unless you’re actively practicing the behaviours that built it. Cloudtap filtration systems are designed, built, supplied, and installed in Australia—and now we have the green triangle to prove it!

Both the Design Series and Essential Series product ranges have been officially approved by the Australian Made campaign, granting us one of the most trusted and recognised certifications in the country. Because we do so much manufacturing in-house, the approval doesn’t just apply to the outer cover or the mounting bracket; the whole system is Australian-made and Australian-owned.

What makes Cloudtap
“Australian Made”?

That triangle logo isn’t just handed out to any business that opens a shopfront in Australia. Our new Australian Made and Owned certification is an independent confirmation that:

  1. Cloudtap is an Australian business, not an Australia-based depot for an international brand.
  2. The construction, manufacturing, and “last substantial transformation” of the certified products took place in Australia.

Being Australian Made is a commitment to head-to-toe quality, reflecting the high standards of Cloudtap’s products and procedures. Our Essential and Design series filtration systems are made in our Osborne Park workshop, built by Australian workers for Australian homes. The facility is ISO-certified (audited and approved by the International Organization for Standardization) and has been servicing major Australian clients like Atco Gas and WA’s Water Corporation for decades.

The workshop is also an approved distributor for Kembla, a trusted Australian manufacturer and supplier of high-quality copper. We use lead-free Kembla copper in both of our system ranges, combining our own 70-year manufacturing reputation with the reliability of a brand that’s been supplying Australian infrastructure for even longer than we have.

Every component and filter cartridge that touches water has earned Lead-Free WaterMark certification (license no. 023512), another Australian standard for quality and safety in water treatment. This means they are both structurally and microbiologically safe for Australian homes, having been thoroughly tested for cracking, warping, leaching, and bacterial growth.

Why does the Australian
Made logo matter?

There’s a difference between a new business introducing itself as Australian and an independent body with decades of credibility and experience backing us up.

Originally introduced by the Federal Government in 1986, the Australian Made, Australian Grown (AMAG) logo is a trusted symbol for local manufacturing, ownership, and produce. There are several versions of the certifications for different products, from the “Australian Seafood” product logo for seafood with locally harvested ingredients to the simple “Australian” logo for export markets, letting other countries know that they’re buying authentic Australian products.

Each version also has an optional “and owned” label for businesses like ours that want to celebrate their genuine local roots. If you’re curious about the different categories of Australian Made certification, the details and requirements for each are listed on the organisation’s website.

On a deeper level, acquiring the Australian Made certification shows that Cloudtap is taking its legacy and values seriously. Checkmarks and certifications for quality control are fine, but they can’t compete with assembly and pressure testing rigs that are literally downstairs from our offices. Even our powder-coated aluminium covers are shaped and coated locally—not quite downstairs, but just down the street.

Local manufacturing gives us more control, more accountability, and a deeper understanding of everything that goes into our products. It allows us to tailor the design, the process, and the end result for Australian conditions, giving every home a reliable and effective solution for chlorine, limescale, and more.

What’s next for Cloudtap?

Australian Made whole-home water filtration systems are worth celebrating, but they’re not an end result—they’re just the beginning! Cloudtap is growing every day, building more solutions for different homes, conditions, and lifestyles.
