The composite carbon structure traps higher rates of heavy metals like lead, mercury, iron, and other particles that may leach into tap water from ageing pipes, contaminated groundwater, airborne dust (often gathered on rooftops in mining regions and collected in rainwater tanks) or industrial pollution. This filter provides the highest level of protection for the majority of Australian homes, filtering as thoroughly as possible without sharply lowering your water pressure. We recommend changing carbon filters every 12 months or as soon as you start noticing a chlorine taste/smell in your water.
