Its high-capacity filters make a meaningful dent in chlorine levels and protect your pipes from sediments and rust particles, all for our lowest annual replacement cost.

The three-stage Essential system is the perfect mix of simplicity and flexibility. Every drop of water that enters your home passes through a 5-micron sediment filter and either a carbon filter or limescale conditioner, pulling out unwanted chemicals and contaminants like rust, dirt, chlorine, and trihalomethanes.

The first two filters strip the gunk from your water and improve the taste and smell, but our three-stage systems take things one step further. Whether you want higher rates of heavy metal removal, need to filter out chloramines that slip through regular carbon filters, or just want to block the smallest particles possible, our customisable filter sets have an option for you.

Triple the Difference

The third stage of any Cloudtap system is a high-quality finishing filter, adding an extra layer of protection tailored to your home and water. The standard starting point is a 5-micron carbon block, continuing the work of your second-stage chemical filter to remove finer particles and higher rates of chemicals without gutting your water pressure.

For the most thorough, most comprehensive filtration, you can upgrade to a 0.5-micron composite carbon block. This filter catches 10x finer particles, blocks chemicals and bacteria, and is designed specifically for catching heavy metals like lead and mercury.

If you live in an area that uses chloramine rather than chlorine (we had to google our postcode to double-check, it’s not the kind of thing most people know off the top of their head), you’ll get the best results out of our catalytic carbon filters. These cartridges have the same ultra-fine 0.5-micron performance as the heavy metal filters, but they use a specially treated carbon media that breaks down stubborn chemicals like chloramine much more effectively.

Banish Limescale with Scaleblock

The Scaleblock second-stage filter is a miracle worker for homes in hard water regions. Limescale shortens the lifespan of appliances, damages heating elements, clogs pipes, and can permanently etch glass surfaces around your home, and removing it typically involves plugging in an electric softener and/or replacing healthy minerals in your drinking water with sodium (or removing them completely through reverse osmosis).

Rather than pumping your water full of salt or stripping away healthy minerals like separate softeners or resin cartridges, the unique conditioning media inside this cartridge crystallises calcium before it gets the chance to form stubborn mineral scales. These harmless, flavourless, odourless crystals keep calcium carbonate isolated, giving you the full benefits of mineral-rich water without dealing with chalky residue and crusty build-up all through your home. Just wipe the crystals away, and they'll disappear first try.

The Scaleblock cartridge doesn’t just block calcium; the internal media catches less desirable metals like lead, zinc, and cadmium, keeping heavy metal contaminants out of your home. It also reduces chlorine, so you’re not missing out on any of our standard second-stage filter features.

Australia may be the driest inhabited continent in the world, but that just makes the rain we do get even more precious. Cloudtap systems with rainwater filter packs let you enjoy collected rainwater without worrying about gutter gunk or airborne contaminants ending up in your tank.

Our pleated sediment filters block particles 14x smaller than the width of a human hair, so they’re more than a match for a couple of leaves. These first-stage filters are even washable, so you can clean off the trapped contaminants and slot the cartridge back in like brand-new (not indefinitely, though—always check the replacement advice for your filter pack).
